GOLF
GOLF series paintings emphasize the important visual impacts distinctive to the golf course setting. As a former PGA golf professional, Treg fully absorbed his visual experiences from the world of golf and creatively applied them to the world of art. As an Artist, Treg concentrated on three key elements that one sees around the golf course: compositions, colors and shapes. With the eye of the artist using the swing of his brush, Treg created the GOLF Series canvases painstakingly painting the hard edge lines, crisp curves and vibrant colors that surround the golfer.

The “MASTERS” Golf Shot-Impact Overspray Paintings: “Visualize” and “On the Range”
Treg has created two exciting “golf shot-impact overspray paintings” on large 48” by 48” canvases. With no paint brush in hand and grabbing only his 5 Iron, Treg whacked paint-dipped golf balls to smash onto the canvas. He was able to cause color placement with golf pro accuracy. Treg planned for the force and impact of the ball to strike the canvas creating unique natural patterns of paint overspray and distinctive dimple marks from the golf ball. The results are two one-of-a-kind golf “MASTERS”. Numerous trials were needed to prevent puncturing the canvas in the creation of these golf-ball-sourced paintings. Creating the overspray paintings required mounting each canvas on a piece of thick foam and wood and positioning them at one end of a golf net so that they could absorb the golf shot-impact by the artist and golf pro Treg.
